Regie de l'assurance maladie du Quebec Low Income Program -12 Consecutive Months
Description:
Certain services provided by dentists and denturists are paid by the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec. Some services are covered for everyone. Other services are covered only for children under age 10 and for persons who have been recipients of lastresort financial assistance for a specific period of time.

Eligibility:
For recipients of last resort financial assistance and their dependants for at least 12 consecutive months.
Coverage:
These persons and their dependants are entitled (in dental clinics or hospitals) to the same services as children under age 10. The only exceptions are root canal treatment and apexification, which are covered, in these cases, only for children under age 13.
The following services are also covered:
• cleaning of teeth and teaching hygiene procedures, from age 12;
• application of fluoride, age 12 to 15 inclusive;
• scaling, from age 16.
In emergencies only, certain services may be provided free of charge to persons who have been recipients of last-resort financial assistance for less than 12 months.
Written authorization from a local employment centre is required to obtain coverage for the above services. The authorization must then be presented to the dentist or denturist.

How it Works:
Recipients receive covered services by presenting their Health Insurance Card or their personal or family claim slip (carnet de réclamation), as the case may be.
The Ministère de l’Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale determines the conditions for entitlement to covered services.
