The Extended Health Benefits (EHB) Full Coverage Plan for people 65 years or older offers insurance coverage in various areas.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for the EHB Full Coverage Plan for Seniors, you need to be enrolled with the Nunavut Health Care Plan and be a non-beneficiary 65 years or older with no other insurance plan.

If you have insurance through your work or any other insurance, you must use those insurance plans before applying for repayment from Extended Health Benefits.

 

Coverage:

EHB will help pay up to $1000 worth of dental services a year if they are not covered by your other insurance plan.

EHB will pay the cost not covered by your other insurance plan of one pair of dentures every five years.

If prescribed dentures are not covered by your other insurance plan, EHB will pay the full cost if you are given prior approval.

How it Works:

You will have to pay for your dental care up front.

Make a claim with your other insurance plan before making a claim through EHB.

Send EHB a statement from your other insurance plan showing how much was covered.

Send a photocopy of the original receipts and the statement from your other insurance plan along with your EHB Claim Form to the Nunavut Health Insurance Programs Office.
