Cleft Palate Program

 

Description:

New Brunswick Provincial Health Plan provides some coverage for children ages 19 and younger with a cleft palate.

Provides financial assistance with the cost of authorised orthodontic work for children 0-19 years who have a cleft of the hard palate; eligibility is income based.

How it Works:

Dental treatment covered under the program is separated into three phases:

1. Initial Treatment – involves services such as consultation, feeding appliance, obturator and orthodontic records (which includes examinations, radiographs and treatment planning);

2. Orthodontic – including braces as well as appliances which may be required prior to braces; and

3. Prosthodontic – work that may be required to replace missing teeth, including dental implants.
